Background



Woking Mind was formed in 1979 to meet the needs of clients with enduring mental illness being discharged from Brookwood Hospital. Woking Mind is a registered charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee with a membership largely derived from those who either use its services or provide voluntary support. Woking Mind is affiliated to Mind, the national Mental Health Charity.

The charity is governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association dated 23rd October 2002. These define the object as being:

'To promote the preservation of mental health and to assist in relieving and rehabilitating persons suffering from mental disorder or conditions or emotional or mental distress requiring advice or treatment... in association with Mind... and in accordance with the aims and object of Mind.'

In addition, the company is constrained to operate within the Borough of Woking (but may accept participants who live outside the Borough), and to remain affiliated to Mind.


Drop-ins

Woking Mind hold regular drop-in sessions at two locations. There is no need to book or to be referred so please feel free to just drop-in!
