What we do

We see more in people than their illness, their label or diagnosis. We see true potential in every person to live independent, fulfilling lives and we want to help them to achieve that reality. Our services are therefore aimed to develop mental well-being, resilience and recovery for adults.

Group activities

We offer our members regular group activities that range from arts and crafts, creative writing, cinema club, current affairs, walking tours to more structured courses at set times of the year, in partnership with other local organisations, such as cookery or gardening. When our members are ready, they can take responsible roles in these groups such as taking the register. To find out more about our activities for this month, click on the latest schedule here.

Information and support

We offer a drop-in service from 10am to 2pm, Monday to Wednesday for one to one information and support at times of distress. Our centre provides a safe and welcoming space for anyone who requires help and there is no need for an appointment or referral. We provide help people understand the local services available to them and offer practical support to access them. Members may also contact us via our advice and support line 07860 340 739 or email [email protected]

Mental Health Awareness

Awareness about mental health is very important to us so we work tirelessly to increase empathy and tackle the stigma which surrounds mental ill health that can have a devastating impact on both individuals and communities. We work with community groups, schools and companies to provide specialist training to promote mental wellbeing and provide the tools to obtain help and support when needed. Community led services

Because we are independent and responsible for our own funding, our services are very much driven by the needs and experiences of people living with enduring mental illnesses in the local community. If we have demand for a certain support group or service, we try and build this into our activity schedule. We don’t ask our members to pay for our groups, but we are increasingly reliant on donations due to cuts in statutory funding.
If you’d like to find out more about our work, we’d be happy to welcome you at our centre to see how our services impact the lives of those with mental health problems. Contact us at: [email protected]
