Training
Improving understanding of mental health issues
Woking Mind attaches considerable importance to improving understanding of mental health issues in the population generally, not least in schools and in the workplace.
We are able to provide expert training, according to the requirements of individual audiences, on all aspects of mental health. Better awareness of such issues amongst teachers and pupils at school has considerable value at this formative stage in young lives. In later years, it can help create a happy and healthy workplace, resulting in reduced absence, increased productivity and greater customer satisfaction.
The types of courses we offer include:
For secondary schools in particular, training on the use of the Woking Mind Mental Health Resource Pack (see following page)
Identifying and supporting student mental health needs
General Mental Health Awareness
Confidence building and assertiveness
Emotional resilience
Supporting individuals with mental health issues in employment
Managing people at work who are stressed, anxious or depressed
Meeting the mental health needs of older people
Understanding self-harm
Mindfulness – better awareness of one’s feelings, thoughts etc.
We can also develop a bespoke programme that meets an organisation’s particular needs.
By attending a Woking Mind event or training course, employees can benefit from a valuable learning experience which can be logged as Continuing Professional Development.
Our General Manager will be happy to tell you more about how Woking Mind can help in this area. Please be aware that, as a charity, we must make a charge to cover our costs in providing the various types of training that we do.
