The beginning of my journey with Woking Mind by Steve Gosling

Thanks to 2020, I have a bit of spare time on my hands! So I’ve committed to doing the South West Coast Trail.

I approached Woking Mind and asked the question what could I do in the short term to help? They continue to be a fantastic organisation helping people with general wellbeing. During these particularly challenging times I know the demand for their services is exceptionally high and really appreciated.

The challenge: To walk the South West Coast Trail. This is the longest of Britain’s National Trials at 630 miles running from Minehead on the Somerset north coast to Poole Harbour. The route will shortly become part of a continuous path running around England with a total length of 2795 miles. My goal is to walk this route, in stages, and in doing so help raise the profile of Woking Mind and much needed funds.

“It’s an old saying but if we have our health then we can handle the vast majority of things life throws at us.”

There no shame in saying that to achieve life’s journey we could all do with some help at some point. Be it physical or mental health we all invariably share the same issues. The fact that Woking Mind is there, on a local level, ensuring that we don’t have to face these challenges alone is so valuable and hugely appreciated.

By dedicating my time and effort doing this fundraising event I hope to help raise the awareness of Woking Mind and some much needed funds.
