Rosie Cares

At 8 years old, Rosie is our youngest fundraiser. In 2021, a close family friend of Rosie’s family sadly died by suicide. Through their sadness, Rosie and her Mum Donna decided that they wanted to help other people and they volunteered at a local Mental Health Awareness event. It was helping at this event that spurred Rosie on to realise that she wanted to do

everything she could to raise both money and awareness herself for Mental Health.

To date Rosie has raised an incredible £551 for Woking Mind through running colouring competitions, bake sales and raffles.

Rosie’s mum is extremely proud of her. She said, “when it comes to others, Rosie is so caring, she always makes sure no one is left out. Although I’m here to help put Rosie’s ideas together, they are exactly that, her ideas.”

Rosie believes that it’s important to speak about how you are really feeling. With the help of her friends, she has her own phrase which she uses to remind people of the importance of talking about how you feel – “Squeak Up”, you are not alone. This is in memory of Phil, who was better known to them as Squeak.
