Bobbie shares her volunteering experience

“I started volunteering for Mind Woking during a career break, and it has been one of the best experiences I’ve had. From the very start the team, volunteers and members all made me feel so welcome. I’ve had the opportunity to gain valuable experience by helping in different areas and improved a range of skills. But the best, and most rewarding, part about volunteering has been getting to know the incredible members. I’ve really enjoyed joining in with activities and sharing laughter. I’ve also received daily gratitude, from both the members and the team, which has made the experience so fulfilling and has made me feel as though I really have contributed to helping make a difference.

It has also been an eye opening experiences to see how vital it is to provide a safe a welcoming space for people with mental health issues. Seeing the teams hard work and dedication to ensure this is provided to the community is inspiring, and I feel privileged to have been a part of it. “
