Business Support Director (BSD)

Member of the Senior Leadership team (SLT) reporting to the Chief Executive


  • Provide good quality financial analysis and advice – especially to the Chief Executive and Marketing and Fundraising Director. Liaise with the Treasurer (a Trustee)
  • Lead on the annual operating plan and budget and forecasting preparation
  • Provide monthly and quarterly management reporting
  • Prepare payroll details for the Payroll supplier
  • Authorise and set up Bank payments
  • Manage the Mind Quality Mark (MQM) Accreditation program annually and every three years
  • Ensure all relevant policies in place and reviewed as required
  • Review legal contracts, Service Level Agreements and Staff employment contracts
  • Provide HR and Training as Development support
  • Manage the relationship with our landlord (Surrey and Borders MH Trust)
  • Negotiate with suppliers for services rendered including Insurance, utilities, IT and Telecoms, Buildings and Facilities
  • Manage the IT supplier relationship and internal IT and telecoms support
  • Provide information and costings for service and funder reporting
  • Provide project management for Technology initiatives including internal CRM system
  • Support new product service development


  • 10 years+ experience at senior management/director level in areas included in the Job Description
  • Educated to degree level
  • Staff management experience
  • Experience of the charity or mental health sector desirable
  • Strong internal and external customer service focus
  • Highly numerate
  • IT and data literate
